Blackberry Milk With Vanilla And Cardamom


Finding wild blackberries this year has been a challenge, with most wild bushes yielding only small, hard, red berries. Luckily, this refreshing blackberry milk with vanilla and cardamom is incredibly easy to make using fresh or frozen blackberries. And it tastes amazing!

Ingredients

Serves 2-4 people

  • 2 Cups Fresh blackberries – Rinsed under cold running water.
  • 2 Cups / 500ml Milk – If using plant-based milk you may like to add a splash of plant-based cream also.
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract , vanilla essence, or vanilla powder
  • Large pinch of ground cardamom
  • Optional: Spoon of honey for extra sweetness, splash of cream

Equipment

Food processor, Nutri Bullet, or stick blender


Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in the blender jug and blend on high speed until smooth.
  2. Strain the milk through a fine sieve to remove the blackberry seeds. Serve in pre-chilled glasses or cups and serve immediately.

Storage

This drink is best served immediately. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.


Variations

Feel free to substitute other berries or a berry mix for the blackberries. You may want to adjust or omit the cardamom, depending on the berries used.
